The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade wished to overhaul the Australian Volunteers International platform, which allows ordinary Australians to browse assignments available for them overseas as professional volunteers.
Today undertook a significant project to simplify the complex journeys through the life-cycle of a volunteer – along every stage of the journey between initial interest, through to returning home at the end of their journey and beyond.
I was responsible for initial design exploration for the site, developing the UI direction for further implementation. The UI is designed to allow potential volunteers to get a quick overview of available assignments, enticing them to explore further, and allowing them to scan down the page easily. Each card makes great use of the beautiful imagery that AVI have access to, showing potential volunteers the impact they can have as soon as they arrive on the site.
I also worked with the dev team to implement and QA the final designs for launch.
