Baptist World Aid Australia wanted to redevelop their web platform, including their digital store, and child sponsorship experience. I worked on both the UX and UI for the new site, developing the interface to feel approachable and friendly.
Primary journeys to sponsorship and donation are highlighted and simplified, providing an easy way for users to understand and support BWAA’s international development work quickly and with deeper emotional connection. I worked to simplify the sponsorship checkout experience – ensuring that people could complete the process quickly, but paying special attention to ensure the process felt personal and inspirational, not transactional.
Similarly, the ethical gifts store allows users to purchase gifts with purpose to aid communities overseas, working to end poverty by giving gifts ranging from malaria tablets up to crops, animals, or infrastructure for whole communities.
Uniquely, user research into BWAA’s primary audience also led to the development of a UI specifically designed for older audiences, with large, friendly fonts, and a highly accessible sizing on all buttons and interface elements—creating a highly accessible site to end poverty around the world.
