When Australian Ethical Investment (AEI) relaunched their quarterly magazine, Good Money, they wanted a publication that was elegant, authoritative, and beautifully designed. It was an amazing opportunity to start from the ground up, and create both the new masthead, and the overall design of magazine itself.
The style I proposed used a modern but elegant serif to anchor the design, with the repeated circle of the AEI identity used to frame logos, content, and captions. A simple palette drawn from the AEI colours reinforced the connection to the brand, while allowing plenty of white space for editorial content to shine.
After the first issue launch, we also created a series of easy-to-use templates, to allow AEI to continue creating all future issues of Good Money, maintaining the high-end feel while allowing them flexibility with their design budget.
